About

Thank you for visiting my blog site. Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism is often misunderstood because of two main reasons: 1) Multiplicity of Gods 2) Literal (word for word) translations of scriptures leading to misinterpretation. But in reality, the concept of Sanatana Dharma pivots around the one unmanifested “Pure Being or Supreme Brahman” who is the source of many manifested forms. Secondly, Hindu scriptures are steeped in allegory, metaphor, symbolism & mythology and cannot be understood if translated literally. They in fact convey philosophical, spiritual & metaphysical concepts and contain very deep universal meanings. These principles are discussed at length in my blogs.

The origins of Hinduism go back to antiquity. “Knowledge” was passed on by our ancients in the form of myths and traditions, as there were no written works. Stories were woven around what they saw around them and in the sky. These were passed on from generation to generation and became the memory banks of humans. Over a period of time, in order to make it more interesting, these stories were highly exaggerated and sometimes border on absurdity. These stories are called “Puranas” meaning “ancient or old”.

I am Surendra, a retired Engineer and my blogs are for those who wish to understand the basics of Sanatana Dharma, especially youngsters and others who are not familiar with it’s  concepts. My blogs will give you a quick understanding about this ancient way of life, on how we are interconnected with the cosmos & the science behind it. At the end of many of my blogs, I have shared “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena – UAP” that has been filmed by me over a period of many years which you may find interesting! I welcome you to read my blogs and enjoy this journey with me…
